It does exactly what it says on the box. Its an essential no messing around utility. If you screw it up it means you haven't read the instructions. It is really that easy.

NIC card no longer works. Booting from image, all goes accordingly till system reboot and the legacy os loads (windows). Reinstalled NIC, troubleshooting event logs (shouldn't matter when OS powered down) but I recalled an operation during the cloning process telling me it's notifying/triggering an event within the powered down Windows OS, i figured something might have been corrupted in the registry. I was right but decided it's more work repairing the registry vs doing a fresh reformat of my OS. Thanks for wasting 2 hours of my LIFE!!
If this is true, why in the world do you need to trigger ANY events to a user machine offline OS instance if the cloning operation occurs between two independent disk? I understand the latter if mounting the directory to an active volume/disk shared with Windows but in cases like mine (cloning external-to-external HDD), this should run independently. ie. build files/cache in ram disk, and do whatever it is you linux guys do to ensure ZERO impact to users data outside the scope of the source/destination disk.
Either way, I just want to share this is a poorly written application from my perspective. You should be more forthcoming about any procedural ramifications to a users data before someone approves a batch process of linux commands to jack up their data and OS.
Maybe i'm way off and missed something, but if im not, shame on you jerks.... Either way, your UI is not intuitive. I own Acronis and paid for it but was hoping this had more functionality. Well it does and them some... Including the above.. Thanks again

This is Clonezilla, you can do a full backup and restore of your server with clonezilla live on a pendrive. This is the best protection from ransomware. Ransomware is an ever-evolving form of malware designed to encrypt files on a device, rendering any files and the systems that rely on them unusable. Malicious actors then demand ransom in exchange for decryption. If you're hit by ransomware, just do a full restore of your server and your network drives. Remember this, because you don't learn it on a Network Engineer course.

It should support Backup/Restore in Windows too.. I mean it should be install-able in Windows and it should backup while Windows is running and it should restore when we click on restore in app, app should restart Windows and run the clonezilla APP and restore Windows installation (C Drive + System Reserve)..

The best! I've been using it for years and it never failed me. I regularly (one a week) create and save images of my Debian and Clonezilla Works like a charm. Clonezilla is very good because it consider the used space only and the compressed image is very small (I guess 50% of the used space) so you won't have to dedicate a whole big disk for your images. I recently switched from HHD to SSD on my old laptop and Clonezilla copied it perfectly. In the last year it also became very easy to connect using WiFi, thanks to nmtui (in the previous versions it was a mess: you had to waste your time configuring everything step by step). I appreciate the richness of other CLI tools too: ddrescue, testdisk and so on, that allow you to use it as a regular admin live. The only thing I miss is Gparted but it requires a graphical environment, so it cannot be added to Clonezilla. Support is excellent: Steven is very nice and the community is very active. Thanks to Steven and all developers! :-)

Is it a badge of honor to maintain the interface in such a poor state? Looks like early 80's never left. I just don't get it...why not update it a little so it's more user-friendly? Someone from Fiverr could've revamped the look, etc. for 40 dollars. Yes, Clonezilla 'gets the job done' but I only use it because my current boss thinks it's the best thing ever. For me it's more enjoyable (yes, I said that) using Hirens Boot CD which includes AOMEI Partition Assistant. Visually it's easier to 'get' and quicker to use. I find I make less mistakes and don't get stuck with some BS error jacking me up, which does happen when using Clonezilla.

This is really a great work -- same as norton ghost for windows. It helps a lot for Linux backup/restoration much easier -- and even more -- it now can support the secured image store -- using aws or ssh server as the image home...

It may not be pretty or very intuitive, but not even today's Windows 10 is as good. Btw, in the "Tell Us a Little More (Optional)" card, there should have been a rating for Performance, I would have given it another 4 or 5. The nearest rating to this is Features, but that's not the same.

Great! The new hard drive shipped with a cloning software(trial) but it failed to recognize the hd, as it was connected via usb. Tried this and it was so easy and got the job done right. Thanks for a great product!
