Windows NT este o serie de sisteme de operare Windows dezvoltate de Microsoft, scrise în limbajele de programare C și C++. Acestea au fost primele care au folosit noul nucleu „NT” (New Technology). Aceasta însemna că dispuneau de un nucleu complet nou, capabil să facă mai multe lucruri decât cel bazat pe MS-DOS folosit în versiunile mai vechi de Windows. Prima versiune publică a fost lansată în iulie 1993.
